Educational Sponsorship

The education system in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a complex landscape marked by both potential and challenges. It encompasses fee-based primary, secondary, and higher education levels. The DRC government is working towards providing free and equitable education to all primary school-aged children but despite these efforts, significant barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of qualified teachers, ongoing conflict (eastern DRC), and economic disparities hinder its progress.
According to USAID, nearly 7 million DRC children aged 5 to 17 are out of school; compared to 165,000 children aged 5 to 17 being out of school in the U.S. (source: census.gov). As the nation works towards enhancing educational opportunities, there remains a need to address these obstacles.
International Child Advancement's goal is to help vulnerable DRC children receive their basic human right to a quality education. In a region where higher education is often out of reach due to cost and ongoing conflict, your support helps students gain skills, build careers, and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Make an impact today by becoming an educational sponsor.
